Loveeee - Secondo discorso con esercizi di grazia

Christine De Smedt explores the paradoxical places in which a personal and choreographic identity is constructed. Her presence can touch the intense explosion between the personal and the impersonal spheres. An ulterior state in which one’s own discourse is processed and one enters into the other.

Christine De Smedt is a belgian artist. Her artistic work is situated between dancing/performing, choreographing, coordinating, organizing and curating artistic projects. Being a member of the company Les Ballets C. de la B. in Gent, Belgium, she produced her own work since 1993: the solo La force fait l’union, fait la force, the traveling project in the Balkan Escape Velocity (1998) and the large scale project 9x9 (2000-2005). She collaborated with Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods, Mette Edvardsen, Mårten Spångberg, Xavier Le Roy, Philipp Gehmacher, Vladimir Miller, Myriam Van Imschoot amongst others. From 2005 she collaborated with Eszter Salamon, creating nvsbl, dance#1, dance#2, and the group project Transformers. Currently she is working on 4 Choreographic Portraits, she is curating the artist residence SummerIntensive, and is engaged in various artistic collaborations.
